RIP Sirius
So my Tess called me up tonight to tell me that her beloved dog, Sirius, is no longer with us. He apparently went outside to wander, and at some point was hit by a car on 3rd Street by Kingston. Tess found Sirius 2 or 3 years ago; I remember her coming to work at Ekstrom going “…and I have a new dog! He’s medium-sized and black with cute ears.” He was indeed a shaggy ragamuffin. We drove over to her attic apartment not too long after — I think we were supposed to be delivering books — and played with her fun new dog instead of going back to work immediately. He was one of the calmest, but most interesting animals…you know, dog had personality. I haven’t felt this much for one of my friends since Keri and Shawn lost Spyder the cat. Anyway Tess got Sirius off the road and into the garage and she’s taking him to be cremated tomorrow…I’m glad John is there to help…and Friday we’re all going out to have a drink on Mr. Sirius Black. Wish I could find a picture of him to post!!
beautiful and tragic
Headline: “Chestnut tree that comforted Anne Frank faces axe”. It just never stops amazing me that we are, right now, involved and a part of history.
